Kaya Aygen, DMD
Originally from Essexville, Michigan, Dr. Kaya Aygen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with a minor in Health and Humanities from Michigan State University. While Dr. Aygen was in college, his father retired from his medical practice and moved to southwest Florida. Dr. Aygen decided to join his parents and received his DMD from the University of Florida.
When job opportunities opened up in Chicago and Washington DC, Dr. Aygen headed north again to pursue them and build his career. He had a taste of big city practices and life and decided that he preferred Florida. He returned to the Sarasota area and practiced in Venice, Florida, until the opportunity arose to join this practice, which has been caring for patients in Sarasota for twenty years. When the senior dentist retired, Dr. Aygen was chosen to succeed her.
Dr. Aygen strives to be the best dentist in Sarasota FL and has gained many advanced qualifications, including certification in IV sedation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Six Month Smiles, and Invisalign. He has also been awarded the title of Top Dentist from Sarasota Magazine.
In order to stay on top of developments in the dental field so that he can bring advanced, modern care to his patients, Dr. Aygen is a member of several professional dental associations:
- American Dental Association
- Florida Dental Association
- West Coast Dental Association
- Sarasota County Dental Association
- International Congress of Oral Implantologists
- American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists
- Seattle Study Club
- Spear Study Club
Dr. Aygen became a dentist because he knew that he could make a difference and help his patients come to see dentistry differently. He believes in quality and durable cosmetic dentistry. His passion for continuing education has given him the necessary skills and experience to earn his patients’ ongoing trust. A caring and compassionate dentist, Dr. Aygen always puts his patients’ comfort and wellbeing first. He believes strongly in educating patients and helping them become empowered advocates for their own care. At our practice, you will always have a say in your treatment.
Dr. Aygen is happily married to his amazing wife, Jamie. They have two beautiful (and far too smart!) little girls, as well as a family cat. When Dr. Aygen is not caring for patients, you can probably find him playing with his kids or cooking, exercising, or reading.
Hello, I'm Michelle, your dental hygienist. This is my 23rd year in the dental field! I was a dental assistant for many years and have worked in general dentistry as well as many specialists offices. I love providing my patients with excellent care and educating them in their oral health.
Originally from Pennsylvania, I have lived in Sarasota since 1987. I love many aspects of fitness and just finished my first marathon! I have two beautiful daughters, Brittany and Brooke. I enjoy traveling with my boyfriend who is a full-time musician. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
Hi I'm Karen. I am Dr. Aygen's patient coordinator! I am usually the first person you meet when you call or visit our office!
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I still enjoy the wonderful transformations that dentistry can provide. Dentistry has come a long way over the years so if you are having any dental concerns, dental insurance questions, or just want to know how we can accommodate your busy schedule with a cleaning, just give us a call!
Originally from New York, I enjoy living in Lakewood Ranch with my husband, Max, and our two sons, Nicholas and Zachariah. I also enjoy designing for DIY Brides and traveling...and most of all, joking around the office!
Hello, I'm Vicky. I am Dr. Aygen's financial coordinator; I work closely with Karen in the front office. I am here to help you arrange future appointments and review any financial questions or concerns you may have regarding your treatment.
Combined, I have over 12 years experience in the healthcare industry in both my clinical assisting and administrative billing roles. I have a vast knowledge of billing practices and experience with insurance companies; I would be happy to help you better understand your benefits at any time!
I grew up in rural Vermont spending most of my time outdoors. Hiking the many mountains, rock climbing on Mt. Mansfield, biking remote trails and kayaking on beautiful Lake Champlain are a few of my favorite things. I recently relocated to Sarasota with my daughter, Adriana, to be closer to family. We love the great outdoors, traveling, exploring new places and all things animal related. We've especially enjoyed our volunteer work with animals in Vermont and look forward to continuing it in Florida!
Hi I'm Sandra! I'm a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) with 9 years of dental experience. I started my career in the field as an administrative assistant and continued my education to become a CDA. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping anxious or fearful patients overcome their dental anxiety.
I'm a Florida native born in Jacksonville. I moved to Southwest Florida 6 years ago with my husband Jeremy, son Kaleb, daughter Kameron and 2 dogs Max & Miley. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, boating, the beach, and volunteering for various youth organizations.
Hi everyone, I'm Shannon! I've been in the dental field since 1998, even though I don't look old enough for doing what I love for so long! I was trained by some great dentists along the and am certified as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant since 2000. I am compassionate and caring and my goal is to make you comfortable and be your advocate in your dental health.
When I'm not working, I'm at the beach and spending time with my family.
