How long does a dental implant take to heal?

Healing Dental Implants | Sarasota FL DentistIf you’ve been missing a tooth and you are planning to get a dental implant, we know you probably want to have your smile completed as quickly as possible.

Implant Healing Process

There is, however, a healing process that usually takes a few months. The length of the process can depend on a variety of factors, including the location of the implant, the type of implant used, how many implants were placed, and your own personal health. It is important that the implant heals and becomes integrated with your bone structure so that it has the stability and strength to support your replacement tooth.

In most cases, healing is uneventful. Many people don’t even notice that the implant is there. If you do have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call our Sarasota dental office at (941) 200-3049.

Dental Implant Restoration

We’ll keep an eye on the healing process, and once we’ve determined that your implant is ready for restoration, we can take the next steps. At this point, we’ll take an impression of the implant and the surrounding teeth and your custom abutment and crown will be made and set into place at your next appointment! This is always an exciting moment, and we can’t wait for you to see your restored smile!
